Volunteer Spotlight: ALEX GRAY

Alex is both a full-time firefighter with the City of Chattanooga Fire Department and a volunteer with WRES. The lifelong Signal Mountain resident and McCallie School graduate completed intensive Firefighting Academy training in early 2021. He says the biggest challenge facing WRES is keeping up with the rising Walden’s Ridge population. “Continued monetary and new volunteer support are important because they help us better protect and serve this growing community,” he says. “If it's the middle of the night or the middle of the day, it doesn't matter when, if you have an emergency, we're responding.”
